Season Pass Special Early Bird Price Ending Soon

hockey goalie boy watching game clock ticking downThis is a photo I did nearly 30 years ago; a goalie, with little time left in the hockey game to make another big save, watches the game clock ticking down so he can begin celebrating his win with the team. It seems a fitting image to use here as the time to save big is ticking down on the Season Pass too!

Considering all the challenges and obstacles we face as hockey photographers it’s amazing that any action photos ever get taken at all. It is no wonder that so few people do this sort of work and most who try don’t last long. Nearby, as in all areas, there is no shortage of people doing “cheap ‘n cheesy” posed photos but it’s rare to see seriously good candid and hockey action photography.

Recently I was pleasantly surprised to discover an exceptional photographer down in Southwestern Ontario doing some excellent work. After seeing her mature style it surprised me to see how young the photographer is. She’s a no-nonsense photographer who stays away from cliche set-ups and poses, costume and wardrobe gimmicks, and kitschy props. Her hockey and candid pictures are consistently clear, sharp and cover a good variety of compositions and situations.

As the style and quality of my photography is the same I am very aware of how tricky, costly and time-consuming that work is. I wasn’t surprised to hear that for hockey the photographer in SW Ontario charges a $250 booking fee, $75 per hour and then charges for the photos on top of that. Her fine work is worth the cost, and I’ve seen much higher, but rates like those make high quality photography exclusive to big events, corporate functions and commercial work. This unfortunately makes the photography inaccessible to most people the rest of the time.

Creating quality photographs presents challenges but there is another just as important challenge of making that quality and service much more reasonably priced and accessible. I have been determined to find a solution to that issue too so the affordable “Season Pass” was invented as a way to get more high quality candid and sports photos into the hands of more people. Since the Season Pass is an innovative idea, one that seems to go against the grain as far as traditional photography rates go, I’ve been running an early bird promotion to introduce it. But this introductory promo can’t last forever!

The $50 promo price on a Season Pass for sports photographs ends soon so I want everyone to have a fair chance to get in on it. The promotional price ends December 1.

To reserve the current discounted price please let me know as soon as possible that you’d like a Season Pass to all your photos for the 2017-2018 season. You do not have to make any payment today. Simply letting me know you’d like the Season Pass will reserve it for you at the current early bird price. Please help spread the word on this as I don’t want anyone to get left out or feel disappointed later on when the price goes up.

Season Pass – What it is and why it’s such good value.

With a Season Pass all photos taken of your player during the 2017-2018 season are yours. You will receive all your photos that appear on the website as well as any others that didn’t get posted to the web galleries.

Each of your photos is individually processed to create files optimized for print and web display. Once the files are prepared they are made available in your own personal password protected gallery page so you will be able to browse and download your pictures any time. As more photos are taken during the season those pictures will be added to your gallery too.

With a Season Pass you may end up with dozens of game action and candid portrait photos so it’s ideal for families who’d like more than one or two photos this season. It’s a specially good option for players on teams that I may see more than once in a season such as those playing in the Muskoka area.

Even if I haven’t covered your team yet you may reserve a Season Pass at the current price. This way you can invite me out to shoot a game, see if you like the work, and then decide if you’d like to purchase any photos. You don’t have to make a payment now or make any commitment to buy photos but please do let me know you’d like to reserve the Season Pass so you will have the option to use it if and when photos are taken for you!

More detailed info on the Season Pass can be found on the  Rates page .
