One of my favorite photography assignments is with non-profit and charity activities and events. In these situations the organizations, community groups and sports leagues don’t typically have big budgets to afford top quality professional photography. It is a great pleasure for me to put that work within easy reach of groups that wouldn’t normally have an opportunity to hire a service like this. This often means working for free or well below the actual cost, and finding creative ways to make the work affordable to do.
The costs to do the work in terms of equipment, travel and time, as well as the website for displaying it all nicely, isn’t trivial. I feel it is well worth that extra effort and expense when I see that people are pleased with their photos. It is very nice when a specially appreciative person wants to express thanks and return the kindness in some way. Every little bit helps keep me going!
