Pictured above: 1. Muskoka Kids Tri volunteers were always ready to supervise and assist in every stage of the triathlon. The swimming course was specially well covered to ensure all the swimmers would have fun and stay safe in the water. 2. I had as much fun capturing the enthusiastic crowd cheering on triathlon racers as I had photographing the athletes. The kids got a great kick out of all that support from the sidelines. 3. A little runner takes his final strides toward the finish line. In this photo I like the vibrant colours of the traffic cones next to the boy’s green shirt. My shooting position, which captured the traffic cones nearer to me and the background runners in the distance, created an interesting illusion in perspective and scale too, making the traffic cones seem quite large next to the boy. In a way this illustrates the experience of the day for many of the kids – little guys taking on a big challenge and loving every moment of it!

The youngest boys group splash their way through the water at the start of their swim race. They had the greatest fun on the swimming course! 3. At the end of the triathlon boys and girls gathered at a table by the beach as Muskoka Kids Tri volunteers prepared to hand out draw prizes.

Each photo is marked in a corner with a file number which helps identify the image in the event anyone would like to request a large copy for printing. In the Muskoka Kids Tri galleries I have not disabled downloading of pictures or covered photos with watermarks to inhibit their use. The work was created for Muskoka Kids Tri participants to enjoy, share and use free of charge. This was not a paid shoot but an entirely voluntary effort to create some nice work for you.

If you enjoy the photos and would like to show appreciation please go to the Contribute page to see how you can help support my work.

I’ve also added a “create your own review” button below, and a new testimonials page where you can leave a rating and review. I will greatly appreciate some input as it may help other local families and groups notice the site and become aware of the photography and service available to them. Thank you! – Boyd Otter
